My Practice

There are a lot of questions people have before starting therapy.  I like to answer the most common questions to reduce any stress and discomfort you may have about seeking counseling services with me.

Please note that I now also offer Telehealth services to Nevada, Florida, South Dakota, Wyoming, and Texas residents. Of course, I continue to provide In-Person sessions at my Grand Prairie location in Texas upon request.

Availability

Please contact me to check on my current availability, as this changes from time to time.  I try to accommodate your schedule to the best of my ability.

I know it’s a difficult decision to reach out for help.  There is nothing more frustrating than reaching out, leaving a message, and not hearing back.  Therefore, I am committed to returning all phone calls. In the event that my practice is fully booked (not accepting new clients), or that your concerns are not in the scope of my expertise, I will follow up with you.

Alexandra Lambeth, LPC

Initial Consultation

I offer a free 15-minutes phone consultation.  This is to ensure your concerns are within the scope of my expertise.  This also helps us determine if we are a good fit for one another.  Good rapport is vital during the therapeutic process.  Reaching out for help is difficult, hence, I want you to feel good about meeting with me.

Insurance

To provide the highest degree of privacy and discretion, I operate as a private-pay-practice by choice. I strive to offer my services without the involvement of managed care organizations, as insurance companies can be quite invasive and often limit the therapeutic process. This also allows me to work with my clients without sharing a diagnosis, which is usually required when filing insurance claims. However, at your request, I may provide the necessary paperwork “superbill”, which will allow you to file your own claims with your insurance after you paid my fee. It is important to note that if you chose this route, I am considered an out-of-network provider, and a diagnostic code will be assigned to the paperwork that you will have to submit.  In addition, I can’t guarantee if, when, or how much you would be reimbursed. Please note that most insurances will not reimburse for EMDR extended or intensive sessions!

Fee Schedule

Talk therapy fees: 60-minute sessions are $200 (the first two sessions are considered intake and take 60 minutes), and regular 45-minute follow-up talk therapy sessions are $150, however, 60-minute follow-up sessions for $200 each can be scheduled upon request.

EMDR/ ART therapy fees: 90-minute sessions are $300 each. The session times may vary per your specific needs, but 90 minutes per session is a standard timeframe I expect for most people with non-complex issues. For example, some people have more complex issues and the intake might take longer than 90 minutes, the pricing for all of the EMDR/ ART sessions is based on the time spent with 15-minute increments being priced at $50. I don’t offer EMDR therapy at a 45-minute session length, which is reserved for only talk therapy. 90-minute extended sessions allow me to provide EMDR effectively and without being time-pressured.

EMDR/ ART intensive session pricing: Intensive sessions start at 3 hours and up to 8 hours per day. Intake sessions timeframes vary based on what we all need to work on. People who want to work through complex issues and need longer sessions, but can’t do a whole day at once, have the option to meet several smaller intensives instead. The pricing is in hourly increments, with my hourly rate being $200.

I DO NOT ACCEPT INSURANCE. Fees are subject to change. Payments are due at the time of service. Intensive sessions require a 50% downpayment and the other 50% is due at the time when the service starts.

People often invest time and money in many aspects that they feel are important in their lives (education, sport, beauty, etc.), but underestimate the power of counseling and the true worth of therapy. Counseling is an investment in your health and emotional well-being. Therapy is improving your life quality and therefore the return on investment is immeasurable. Consider therapy to be the most important asset in your ability to manage your life, feel good about yourself, and cope with stressors in your life. What better investment could you ever make in your life?

Attending your therapy sessions as scheduled is very important, as it will help you meet your therapeutic goals. Your appointment is exclusively reserved for you, hence, a specific time is blocked for you on the booking calendar. Cancelations and re-scheduled sessions, as well as missed sessions, will be subject to a full charge if a 24-hour in-advance notice wasn’t received.

Counseling is most effective if we meet weekly to reach your goals. Once you feel better we may move to bi-weekly sessions. Many clients find monthly maintenance sessions beneficial to discuss general worries and stressors, as well as to be reminded and enforce good habits and positive coping skills.

Paperwork

Intake paperwork is completely paperless and easy to complete, within 25-45 minutes. Prior to scheduling your first official session, you will receive an e-mail with a login link to my client portal.  This portal is HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) compliant and encrypted to safely store your information.  A form of payment on file (credit, debit, health savings card) is required for me to schedule a session with you. Please fill out all the required documentation and payment verification, which will allow me to move forward in scheduling our first appointment.  Your time is valuable to me.  By having your information and all the documentation filled out prior to our session, we will only briefly review the paperwork when we meet, which means we can concentrate on talking about your concerns and why you came to see me.

Practice Location

My office is located in Grand Prairie, Texas. If you plan on meeting in person, you will receive my office address once you completed all intake paperwork on my client portal. Office sessions are conducted by appointment only.

TeleHealth - Online Video Therapy

I also offer telehealth therapy to TEXAS, NEVADA, SOUTH DAKOTA, WYOMING, and FLORIDA residents. There are many benefits of online counseling, which are geared to my client’s individual needs. The benefits are Instant remote access, convenience, no travel time, no traffic, no travel expense, no parking worries, anonymity, and no worries that other people see you go to therapy. I use a HIPAA-compliant secure video platform to meet with you, hence, your telehealth session will remain confidential. Online counseling is also a good alternative when you are sick and might not be able to meet in person with your therapist. You are also not at risk of physical exposure to contagious diseases such as the Coronavirus or the flu. Essentially, telehealth counseling is a virtual house call from your therapist. Studies have shown that video therapy can be as effective as traditional face-to-face counseling.

Confidentiality

Therapy is a place for my clients to feel safe. Counseling services are confidential, however, there are rare expectations. My client’s well-being and safety is my top priority. As a mandated reporter I will have to inform authorities if my clients put themselves or others at risk or harm. Safety risk exceptions to confidentiality and legal exceptions to confidentiality are detailed in my intake paperwork. I am more than happy to answer any questions you may have regarding confidentiality.
